Britain’s Costa Coffee have announced plans to convert its entire coffee bean supply to sustainably grown beans sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms by 2010. The Rainforest Alliance is an independent, international non-profit NGO that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behaviour.

Costa Cofee, the UK’s fastest growing coffee chain and part of Whitbread PLC, today announced a deal that will see the coffee brand expand into China.
Whitbread PLC has agreed a Joint Venture agreement with Chinese partner Yueda Group to launch the Costa brand in Shanghai and Eastern China. The first Costa store is scheduled to open in early 2007 and the aim is to open over 300 Costa stores throughout China in the next few years.
Costa Coffee, the UK’s fastest growing retailer, is launching a new and improved range of iced drinks for summer. The popular Frescato iced blended drinks will be available in eight refreshing flavours to cater for every taste – creamy, fruity or plain indulgent.
