Tea Health Benefits

All black, green, oolong and white tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant and the various tea health benefits are mainly attributed to the antioxidants contained in the leaves that are used to produce tea.

Various studies have concluded that tea may help in keeping your heart and cardio vascular system healthy. Flavonoids in tea appear to prevent the oxidation of Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (the bad type) in the blood stream. Since cholesterol cannot dissolve in the blood, it can slowly build up on the artery walls that feed the heart causing them harden and narrow over time.

The Camellia sinensis plant is also a rich source of fluoride which can help reduce the build up of plaque on the teeth as well as strengthening tooth enamel.
